Dr. Kimberly Avis

Dr. Kimberly Avis was born and raised in Fort Frances, Ontario.

Dr. Avis completed her Bachelor of Science Honours degree at the University of Waterloo in 1997 before attending optometry school at the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana.

Clinical externships included Laservue in Orlando, Florida, Commonwealth Eye Services in Lexington, Kentucky and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Upon graduation from optometry school in 2001, Dr. Avis spent a year practicing in Edina, Minnesota before moving back to Ontario.

In 2004, she started her private practice in Oshawa, Ontario. In June 2012, Dr. Avis moved her practice to Courtice, Ontario to offer her patients a full scope optometric center.

She looks forward to welcoming all of her patients and meeting all of your eye care needs at her new facility!

Dr. Kimberly Avis is a member of the OAO (Ontario Association of Optometrists) and a member in good standing of the CAO (Canadian Association of Optometrists).

Dr. Heather Lane

Dr. Heather Lane completed a bachelor's degree in biology at Burman University in Alberta before continuing her education at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science where she completed her Doctor of Optometry Degree.

During her time at the University of Waterloo Dr. Lane was involved in two optometry volunteer trips. She travelled with Volunteer Optometry Services for Humanity to Cap-Haitien, Haiti and with Canadian Vision Care to Montego Bay, Jamaica to provide free optometric services to locals with limited access to adequate eye care.

She also completed an ocular disease and therapeutics internship at the Jack. C Montgomery Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Muskogee Oklahoma.

As a local from the Durham Region Dr. Lane is happy she returned to the area and caring for her patient's needs.
